In 2020 ONTID team – experts in cloud video streaming software/business automation – got a request from the USA company “Edgescreen” LLC (CEO Matthew Conrad). The task was to create a unique startup in the TV and Video streaming market – SaaS for video/audio professional broadcasters. it was interesting to help and develop something really great and… we dived into this project!

As professionals in the TV and video industry, the client’s team knows better than anyone else what pains the participants have.
Edgescreen allows broadcasting via browsers live professional video. It uses WebRTC in several formats: RTMP/RTSP and connects broadcasters who use encoders like Teradek.

We created a great web application with optimal architecture that fits all requirements. Applied microservice structure implemented security system. Created a usable and functional admin panel. Implemented the protection against hacking and attacks.
It was necessary to select the correct server configuration and install it on a dedicated server. Also to achieve maximum performance and minimize the delay. We worked closely with the Red5 team and they helped us to clarify the documentation.
In order for users from all over the world to be able to pay for Edgecreen services and the application will be able to scale, we connected Stripe and developed our own modules, which were finalized based on the Stripe API.
An effective notification system has been implemented for users and viewers. For this were used such services as Mailchimp and Mandrill. We have also implemented a triggered mailing that can be controlled from the admin panel.
For marketing, it needed to create an automatic system of discounts and coupons. Also, we implemented the system of up-sale and cross-sale services.
Zero delay, extra high quality, ability to use professional encoders like Teradek, make shoots in RTMP/RTSP/SRT formats, and convert it to WebRTC via a specialized media server that allows any viewer to connect. It helps the industry to work without limits just having an internet connection. Automatic cost calculation, a high level of security, a well-thought-out interface, a Stripe payment system, flexible management of broadcast time and duration, the ability to limit the number of viewers – all this makes this service innovative. Interest in the application is growing literally every day.
