In the spring of 2019, our team was approached to create a new web-portal for FIDE and we happily agreed.
The main task was successfully performed by us: to create an absolutely new, convenient, efficient portal for the interaction of players, national federations and chess fans around the world, combining information about events, tournaments and player ratings.
The old FIDE portal didn’t match load, was unmodern, so many increases the client wanted to add.
At the start of the project, the client had only a general vision of the new portal and some functional ideas. Thanks to the business analyst and UX/UI designer from the Ontid team, the vision has formed into a full-fledged integral concept of the sports portal.

The new portal has become a convenient platform for the federation to interact with professionals, chess fans, national federations and partners.
In the first month of the portal’s operation, the Federation noted an increase in site traffic, and also received a large number of high ratings from representatives of national federations and players. During the first six months of the portal’s operation, the number of users increased by more than 50 percent, and the average length of stay on the site (audience engagement) increased by 2.5 times. The tight deadlines for development and adherence to the launch date allowed the representatives of the federation to present the updated portal to their partners and get new sponsorship contracts.
